A plastic belt conveyor, traveling at the same speed as an assembly line, allows a worker to stand and travel with the assembly line while performing work. This eliminates the need for line stoppage, resulting in a much safer working environment. Typical design features include: Acetal non-skid belt (black with yellow edging), dual drive configuration utilizing a main drive and a retarding back drive to reduce chordal action and provide for smooth belt travel, Catenary take-up for belt storage and tension, and a safety exit device.
